Exciting times

The press release is out, the company newsletter is proclaiming the news: Raincity Studios has acquired Bryght.

Looking back a year to DrupalCon Brussels, we were all very excited about the impending release of Drupal 5, support for much larger deployments and projects, performance and scalability improvements, the growing size of the community, internationalization. We figured that all of these technical improvements would parlay into greater adoption, larger scale sites, and enterprise deployment, and this seems to have been born out.

At DrupalCon Barcelona a few months ago, much of the talk was centered on Drupal in the Enterprise. Frankly, I was wondering how Bryght would be able to meet some of the significant challenges that this emerging market represents. With the combined strengths and backgrounds resulting from the acquisition, I feel like many of the pieces of the puzzle have just come together.

I think that the next year is going to be an amazing year for Drupal, the community, Drupal shops large and small, and Raincity in particular. I'm stoked!
